Having 25 years of experience with the PPSO and over 1000 hours of law enforcement and leadership training, I know the business of law enforcement. I rose through the ranks, from deputy, to sergeant, to lieutenant, to captain, and then ultimately deputy chief, where I effectively lead the officers of PPSO. I have 10 years of experience on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, working with numerous federal and state partners. I have lead during multiple hurricanes including Katrina, Rita and Isaac, successfully managing during adverse times. I have managed 12 million dollars of personnel and assets. I am an active member of the community, volunteering as a coach for over 20 years, involved in the YMCA, and participating in events that bring our community together.
Born and raised here, Plaquemines Parish and law enforcement are my life. I want to restore confidence in the top position, improve morale within the department, and strengthen community relations outside of it. I want to see officers promoted through the ranks and top jobs earned and filled by people who live in Plaquemines Parish and have a vested interest in our community. I want to reallocate and/or multitask underutilized resources resulting in a 100% engaged force. Plaquemines Parish has been a safe place to live for a long time. I want to restore strong community policing and the values that make Plaquemines Parish unique, ensuring our safety for generations to come.
Key initiatives for me will be protecting our children, aggressively attacking the drug problems in the parish, programs for our seniors, improved officer training and assessment, sound financial management, and becoming the best community policing department in the state.
