Debate Format:
State Rep; Assessor; Clerk of Court; Corner:
CALL TIME: 6:10 pm; Please Register and pick up a name tag. Event starts at 6:30
· Districts 1-9 will line up as a group on stage to introduce themselves and answer the same questions. Strict time limits apply.
o Please introduce yourself: provide your education and qualifications for councilman and state why you are campaigning for the position. 1 minute.
o What is the most important issue facing the parish and the most important issue facing your district? 1 minute
Other questions to follow.
Sheriff Candidates Debate: Approximately 1hr 15 min to 1hr 25 min.
CALL TIME: 7:30 pm; Please Register and pick up a name tag. Debate begins after the Council Candidate are introduced.
· Opening Introduction: Background, education and why running for office. 2 minutes
o Candidates will draw slips of paper to identify who takes the first real question, then it is up to Jeff to call upon you in the order of his choice. You will introduce yourself to the audience in the order that you select to be on stage from left to right.
· Jeff Crouere will ask each candidate the same series of question. Mr. Crouere may follow up to your answer; especially if you are not clear.
· Be prepared to ask questions addressed to all candidates or to a particular candidate.
· Be prepared to answer short rapid fire questions.
· Be prepared to make a closing summation statement.
